Day 1 –Arrive in New Orleans where you will be transferred to the Bayou town of Houma in Terrebonne Parish to begin your fun cultural experience. Get to know your tour partners at a Cajun welcome dinner. (D)

Day 2 – Depart for Greenwood Gator Farm where you get up close and personal with an alligator. Learn about the alligator not just as a swamp dweller but as an industry…from trapping gators to gator fashion accessories. If you are brave enough you can hold a gator, feed them and even hatch a baby gator in your hand. Or just stand aside and watch! Following lunch slow the pace to Ardoyne Plantation a unique home built in 1894 and considered by the National Register of Historic Places to possibly be the largest and most elaborate remaining examples of rural Victorian Gothic architecture in the state of Louisiana. Continue on to Avery Island home of world famous Tabasco. See the process and sample the flavors of the pepper sauce known around the world. Round out the day with the “joie de vivre” (joy of living) of the Cajun and Creole people as you dine on delicious Cajun food and dance to Cajun music in Lafayette. Check into your hotel for the evening. (B, L, D)

Day 3 – Enjoy breakfast and check out then continue the music with the Martin Family famous for their Accordions that bare their name. A visit to Vermilionville Living History & Folk Life Park  will show you the importance of the Bayou in shaping the lives of the early Acadian settles and how it continues to influence the culture of Acadia today. Enjoy lunch at Vermilionville before traveling on westward to Louisiana Spirits distillers of Bayou Rum.  Just down the highway is where Cajuns meet Texans in Port Arthur.  This evening will be a fun surprise…..don’t want to spoil the secret but you are sure to enjoy. Day 4 – Today it’s time to begin exploring the big state of Texas. First stop will be in Austin a city known for music and weirdness but also is the Capitol of this great state. After lunch begin with a visit to the Bullock Museum next to the Capitol to learn about the colorful History of Texas that began in 1519 with the arrival of the first Spanish conquistadors in the region now known as Texas . During the next 346 years all or parts of Texas were claimed by five countries—as well as the Confederate States of America. Check into your hotel and freshen up for dinner and entertainment Texas style. (B, D)

Day 5 – This morning begins with a visit to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center to see the beautiful wildflowers of Texas, 650 species in gardens, meadows and nature trails. Explore indoor art exhibits, learn about Mrs. Johnson and native plant research. Texas is know for BBQ and Lockhart is known as the official BBQ Capitol of Texas. They even have BBQ wars in Lockhart and now it’s time to judge for yourself when you have lunch at one of the famous unique BBQ joints of Lockhart. Texas is dotted with small towns that began as settlements by immigrants in the 1800’s and Gruene is one of these with a rich history. Soak up some Texas hospitality while you visit the shops or stop in the Gruene Dance Hall for some refreshment.   Continue on the westward journey to San Antonio a city with a rich colorful history the Alamo and the miles-long River Walk a landmark pedestrian promenade lined with cafes and shops. Check into your hotel then enjoy your evening exploring the area. (B,D)

Day 6 – The day begins with learning about the famous Battle of the Alamo and walking in the steps of Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie Visit the Mission San Jose recognized as the most beautiful of all Texas missions. Visit El Mercado the colorful Mexican market and back to the hotel to enjoy the Riverwalk at your leisure. (B,D)

Day 7 – Today enjoy the beautiful hill country on the way to Fredricksburg a German town originally settled in 1846. Enjoy visiting the many shops or visiting the Admiral Nimitz Museum dedicated to the men and women who served in the Pacific during World War II under the command of Admiral Nimitz. After lunch on your own head over to Luckenbach Texas and get back to The Basics of Love with Waylon Willie and the Boys. Tonight is a real Cowboy experience, a Texas size cookout with dancing and fun in Bandera,Texas, Cowboy Capitol of the World, where they still ride their horses into town. Return to your hotel in San Antonio (B,D)

Day 8 – Good bye to San Antonio and on to the Texas Whitehouse, President Lyndon Johnson’s home in Texas during his term as our 36th President. Enjoy the beautiful wildflowers that blanket the rolling hills. Have lunch on your way to Ft Worth a true Texas welcome then  check into yourStockyard hotel and enjoy leisure time  evening exploring the Stockyard District. (B,L)

Day 9 – Today it’s Football and Horses. Start the day in the heart of Horse Country in Denton where you will get up close and personal with the horses when you tour a premier horse ranch.After lunch take a tour of the amazing AT & T Stadium the home of the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington. Back at the Stockyards get ready for the traditional Cattle Drive where the longhorns go right through town. Tonight say farewell to Texas with a special dinner then do some boot scootin at Ft. Worth’s famous Billy Bob’s. (B,D)

Day 10 – Today it’s time to bid this cultural journey good bye and head for Home (B)
