Arkansas - Eureka Springs
» Arkansas - Eureka Springs
This Victorian village boasts the country’s only entire downtown on the National Register of Historic Places. Painstakingly preserved structures hug the cliff-sides and winding mountainside streets. Walk around historic downtown or take the trolleys, to peruse over 150 art galleries and shops, historic hotels, B&B's and other lodgings. There are also over 75 restaurants that offer a wide variety of cuisine.
Eureka Springs is a small town and proud of it! Less than 2,500 folks live in this magical, friendly village, and yet there’s as little or as much to do as you like. More than 20 million have seen the Great Passion Play. The world’s largest sanctuary for Big Cats, Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, rescues large felines and places them in natural habitats.
Visitors enjoy nightly music shows, annual blues and bluegrass festivals, opera, and the country’s oldest folk festival. There are free outdoor concerts in the park, shows at the city auditorium and colorful parades for every occasion! Other Attractions include the ESNA Railway, St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Quigley's Castle, and Pivot Rock.
The town’s history is colorful and lengthy. Artifacts of Eureka Springs’ rich past are displayed in the Historical Museum. This is decidedly not an ordinary town.
