Our peaceful island getaway begins as we arrive in Mackinaw City and board the ferry to Mackinac Island—where there are no cars, only the sound of horses and the scent of lilacs in the air. Enjoy the scenic ride across the Straits of Mackinac with views of the iconic Mackinac Bridge. Upon arrival, we’ll take a horse-drawn taxi to the lovely Mission Point Resort, nestled on the island’s sunrise side. This historic resort offers beautiful gardens, lakefront paths, and a tranquil setting just a short stroll from downtown. Unpack, relax, and enjoy an included dinner at the resort as we settle into our island home.
( Dinner )After a full breakfast at the resort, we begin our morning with a horse-drawn carriage tour, one of the most iconic ways to experience Mackinac Island. Enjoy a narrated ride past historic homes, natural rock formations, and wooded trails. We continue to Fort Mackinac, where costumed interpreters bring history to life inside the original 18th-century buildings perched high above the harbor. Next, enjoy lunch at the Tea Room, located inside the fort and known for its sweeping views of downtown and the sparkling Straits below. After returning to the resort, enjoy a free afternoon to explore on your own—visit the butterfly house, book a spa appointment, or take a bike ride around the island. Dinner tonight is independent; the evening is yours to soak in the beauty of this special place.
( Breakfast Lunch )Start your day with a delicious breakfast and a relaxing morning. Take time to stroll the lakeside trails, shop downtown for unique island finds, or sip coffee in an Adirondack chair overlooking the water. The day is free for you to enjoy the island. Tonight, we’ll enjoy an elegant group dinner at the Carriage House Restaurant, located at the Hotel Iroquois. Known for its fresh lake-caught fish, fine service, and harborfront views, it’s a perfect way to celebrate our final evening on the island.
( Breakfast Dinner )Enjoy one last breakfast before checking out and taking a taxi into downtown. Indulge in a sweet tradition with a fudge tasting at several of Mackinac’s famous candy shops. Then enjoy some free time for shopping, sightseeing, or lunch on your own before we catch the afternoon ferry back to Mackinaw City.
